What are Solo Discoveries?

Solo Discoveries are vital to the Always Onward lifestyle because they offer opportunities for deep self-reflection, personal growth, and resilience. When you venture out alone, you step out of your comfort zone, confront challenges independently, and learn to rely on your inner strength. These experiences help you gain clarity on your values, passions, and purpose, fostering a stronger sense of self.

Solo Discoveries remind you that true growth often happens in moments of solitude, empowering you to move forward with greater confidence and intention on your Always Onward journey.

Oregon & Washington - 2022

I was looking to reconnect with myself. To rediscover my passions for travel & photography. Yearning to feed that innate sense of wonder and discover something new.

I’ve been to the west coast before, but this was my first time in the Continental US Pacific Northwest. My roadtrip went from Portland - through the Colombia River Gorge, up to Washington and down the entire Oregon Coast. If you’d like to know my itinerary - send me a message and I’ll be happy to share!

What I discovered on this roadtrip was a sense of purpose and direction. It was here that Always Onward Co. was born.

Cossayuna Lake & Lake George - 2023

It was Memorial Day weekend and it was the first time I was really able to rest. In January - I had separated from my spouse and instead of processing the grief, I jumped right into work.

I had full intention on exploring the area, going hiking and kayaking. But once I got up to the lake house cottage - most of those plans went right out the window. I just couldn’t bring myself to get out and be that active. What I truly needed was rest.

It was here that I really discovered what a mental rest is and how important it is to just re-group. I was able to read, journal, reflect, cook, have dance parties all to myself. It was here that I started to really discover what my values and principles are.

St. Augustine - 2024

It was around April and I had just gone through some very challenging times over the last few weeks. I felt myself being pulled in so many different directions that I need to re-center myself and get re-aligned.

While in St. Augustine, I had stayed in this beautiful studio cabana that was a converted art studio. It had its own courtyard with hammock, palm trees all around - pure bliss. I would wake up early and watch the sunrise over the Atlantic and then set in the west over the inlet. While here - I was able to re-focus on my purpose of Always Onward Co. as well as work through some personal decisions that I had been going back and forth on. It was by staying in that cabana that I made the decision - I needed to sell my house and get an apartment. Even though financially it made more sense to be in the house, mentally & environmentally - I needed out.
